Medial Branch Blocks for Facet Pain in Chamblee, Georgia

Medial branch blocks help examine whether facet joints contribute to pain in the neck or back after a motor vehicle collision. The injection targets medial nerves that carry signals from those joints.

The key decision is diagnostic fit. We consider the pain pattern, physical findings, crash history, and available medical records before discussing the procedure. A block is not the right answer for every spinal condition, including pain that points more strongly to a disc or nerve-root problem.

Premier Injury Specialists serves auto accident patients throughout Metro Atlanta, including Chamblee, from clinics in Stockbridge and Buckhead. Our team coordinates evaluations, interventional treatment, and medical documentation in one practice.

  • Confirm that the pain pattern may involve facet joints or medial nerves.
  • Review crash-related symptoms, prior care, and available medical records.
  • Discuss whether a diagnostic injection fits the suspected pain source.
  • Plan follow-up based on the pain response and clinical findings.

Service Overview

Medial branch blocks are diagnostic injections that place numbing medicine near small nerves serving the facet joints.

  • A medial branch block tests a possible pain source, while radiofrequency ablation uses heat to treat selected nerves after a diagnostic response.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this evaluation and treatment pathway for auto accident patients in Chamblee.

Process

How We Plan and Perform This Diagnostic Injection

1

Review the crash and pain pattern

We discuss how the collision happened, where pain starts, and what activities bring it.

2

Complete the focused examination

Our physician checks the neck or back findings and considers whether the symptoms fit facet joint involvement.

3

Explain the diagnostic injection

We describe the target area, the purpose of the block, and what the pain response may help clarify.

4

Set the follow-up plan

We review the findings and response with you, then discuss whether another treatment or evaluation fits the next step.

How We Approach This Spinal Pain Decision

A focused diagnostic question

The first decision is whether the pain pattern fits the nerves that serve the facet joints. We review that question before discussing an injection.

Physician-LED treatment planning

Board-certified pain management physicians guide the evaluation and explain how the findings may shape later care. Our team keeps the plan tied to your injury.

When another service fits better

A medial branch block may be the wrong job when symptoms point to a disc, nerve root, or condition outside crash-related injury care. We discuss the appropriate next step from the exam and records.

When this service is the right fit

A Chamblee patient with neck or back pain after a collision may want to know whether the facet joints are involved before considering a later procedure. We review the symptom pattern, examine the affected area, and discuss whether a diagnostic injection can answer that question. The consultation also clarifies what records and follow-up care belong in the treatment plan.

I had a great experience at premier injury specialist after my car accident. From the moment I walked in, Tracy, the patient coordinator, made sure I understood the process and felt comfortable. Tony, the medical assistant, did an amazing job explaining the procedure in detail, which eased my nerves. Dr. Vyas thoroughly reviewed my MRI and took the time to explain my condition and treatment options. He was very honest and upfront about the procedure, making sure I truly needed the injection before administering it. His transparency and genuine care for my well-being reassured me that this office isn’t just in it for the money — they are truly invested in their patients’ health. I highly recommend this office to anyone in need of pain management. They provide exceptional care with professionalism and integrity.

The staff (Tracy) and the medical folks are very nice. They explain everything to you in plain language before you even get started, and once you see doctor (Dr Scott), the assistant (Areyana) is gentle & sweet. They both will walk you through the entire process verbally, as they go and they make sure you are good before you leave as well. Above & beyond when it comes to bedside manner. Just make sure you don't get lost in the Kroger parking lot, listening to GPS. The clinic is inside Arrowhead across the street, behind Subway.

My injection wasn't as bad as I thought. It was over quick and I was able to move and lift my legs in a way that I haven't in a while. This decision was well worth it. Office was clean and EVERYONE was absolutely amazing. 10 stars

Questions About Diagnostic Blocks for Spinal Pain

When reviewing site readiness, how are medial branch blocks used to diagnose spinal pain during the initial assessment?

Facet pain is assessed by placing a diagnostic injection near the medial nerves that serve the facet joints. Premier Injury Specialists first reviews your crash history, symptoms, and exam findings. A change in pain after the block may support the suspected source, but the result does not explain every spinal condition. Your physician uses the findings to discuss follow-up care.

What does the first consultation check before this injection?

The first consultation checks your injury history, pain pattern, physical findings, and available medical records. We also discuss prior treatment and your main care goals. Those details help our physician decide whether the suspected pain source fits a medial nerve block or whether another evaluation better matches the symptoms.

Which symptoms suggest a different spinal treatment may fit?

Disc-related pain, nerve-root symptoms, or signs of a broader neurological problem may call for a different evaluation. We review pain that travels into an arm or leg, changes with movement, or comes with weakness or numbness. A physician should assess sudden or severe neurological changes without delay.

When should I bring records to a pain consultation?

Medical records should come to the consultation whenever you have them. Helpful items include imaging reports, prior treatment notes, medication lists, and accident-related records. They give our team more context, but you can still discuss an evaluation if some documents are unavailable. We explain what belongs in the next step.

Why might a diagnostic block not be the right choice?

A diagnostic block may not fit when the examination points to a disc, nerve root, or non-accident condition. The procedure tests a specific pain source, so it cannot address every cause of neck or back pain. Our physicians review the findings and explain another care path when the suspected source does not match.

How do MedPay and attorney liens relate to treatment costs for Medial Branch Blocks?

MedPay and attorney liens may help eligible auto accident patients receive care without an out-of-pocket payment at the visit. Eligibility and case details affect how those arrangements work. Our team discusses the available billing path during the consultation, while the clinical plan remains based on your injury findings.
