Client Support and Delivery in Brookhaven

Post-surgical pain treatment helps patients whose pain continues after an operation linked to a motor vehicle collision. The visit focuses on the pain source, the surgical history, and how symptoms affect movement and daily tasks.

This page serves a specific decision. You may need care that connects a prior surgery with neck pain, back pain, sciatica, headaches, radiculopathy, or soft tissue injury. Our team reviews the condition and explains whether medication, an injection, or another treatment fits.

The service is not general primary care, urgent care, or workers’ compensation care. It is designed for accident-related injuries and includes medical documentation that supports coordinated treatment.

  • Bring available surgical records, imaging reports, and medication information.
  • Describe where pain starts, how it moves, and which activities worsen it.
  • Ask how each proposed treatment fits the surgical history.
  • Discuss aftercare and follow-up before an injection or nerve block.

Why Patients Choose This Approach to Pain Care

A physician reviews the pain source

A medical assessment comes before treatment selection. Board-certified pain management physicians review the injury and surgical history, while our team explains what each option involves.

Treatment matches the documented problem

An epidural steroid injection may suit nerve-related pain, while a facet joint injection may address a different source. We match the plan to the findings.

The service has a clear limit

This service is not the right fit for general primary care, urgent care, or workers’ compensation care. We focus on pain caused by motor vehicle collisions.

Explain aftercare and records

We discuss aftercare and document the evaluation, treatment plan, and follow-up needs.

Questions About Post-Surgical Pain Care

What methods can reduce pain after surgery for Post-Surgical Pain Treatment?

Gentle movement may reduce stiffness when the surgical plan permits it. Oral medication, ice therapy, and nerve blocks may also support pain control. Our physicians review your surgery, symptoms, and current medicines before recommending an option. Treatment goals and risks should be discussed during an evaluation, because results vary between patients.

How does a physician choose between medication and an injection?

Treatment choice depends on the pain source, surgical history, symptoms, and medical findings. Oral medication may support broader pain control, while an injection targets a specific area. Epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, and joint injections serve different purposes. We explain the reason for each option before treatment.

For Post-Surgical Pain Treatment, which records should I bring to the first visit?

Surgical records, imaging reports, medication lists, and accident-related medical records help our physicians assess your condition. Bring any discharge papers or instructions from the operation if available. These records help connect the current symptoms with the earlier injury and guide thorough medical documentation.

Can I receive an evaluation without an MRI?

An MRI is not stated as a required condition for every evaluation. Our physicians assess your symptoms, history, examination findings, and available records before deciding what information is needed. If imaging would help guide an injection or other treatment, the care plan will address that need.

Why might pain continue after the surgical site heals?

Persistent pain can involve irritated nerves, spinal joints, soft tissue, or changes in movement after surgery. A healed incision does not identify every pain source. We assess pain patterns and related injuries, then discuss options such as medication, nerve blocks, or targeted injections when appropriate.

What makes treatment the wrong fit for my situation?

General primary care, urgent care, and workers’ compensation care fall outside this service. Our practice focuses on injuries caused by motor vehicle collisions. Patients with accident-related pain after surgery can receive an injury evaluation, while unrelated health concerns should be addressed through the appropriate medical service.
