Selective Nerve Root Block Care for Jonesboro Injury Patients

A selective nerve root block is considered when pain travels along a nerve path after a motor vehicle collision. Common concerns include neck pain, back pain, sciatica, radiculopathy, and herniated discs.

The main decision is whether one nerve matches the symptoms and examination. Our physicians review the injury story, pain pattern, physical findings, and available records before recommending targeted treatment.

This page serves a focused buyer need. You’re looking for a procedure that may both guide diagnosis and address pain linked to one nerve. The treatment isn’t a cure for every source of pain, and it may not fit symptoms caused by another condition.

  • Match the pain pattern to a specific nerve path.
  • Review injury records and relevant imaging when available.
  • Discuss whether targeted medication fits the care plan.
  • Ask how the findings may guide later treatment.
  • Understand follow-up and medical documentation needs.

Service Overview

A selective nerve root block is an injection near one spinal nerve that helps assess and treat related pain.

  • Unlike a broader epidural steroid injection, this approach focuses on a specific nerve root when the symptoms and examination point to one area.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this service for accident-related conditions affecting patients in Jonesboro.

Process

Steps From Evaluation to Targeted Treatment

1

Review the accident and symptom path

We discuss how the injury happened, where the pain travels, and which movements or positions change it.

2

Match findings to one nerve

Our physician compares the physical examination with available imaging and diagnostic testing to identify a possible nerve source.

3

Explain the treatment choice

We explain the purpose of the block, expected questions, possible alternatives, and how the procedure fits your care plan.

4

Complete the targeted injection

When the treatment is appropriate, we place medication near the selected nerve root using the planned clinical approach.

5

Document findings and plan follow-up

We record the treatment discussion and findings, then explain the next care step based on your response and ongoing symptoms.

Why Patients Choose Focused Nerve Treatment

A decision based on the pain path

The pain pattern, physical examination, and injury history help determine whether one nerve is the right target. A block is the wrong fit when symptoms do not point to a specific nerve or another condition needs attention first.

Physician-LED treatment planning

Board-certified pain management physicians review the findings and explain the available choices in plain language. Your plan is shaped around the documented injury and your symptoms.

Care built around accident injuries

We focus on motor vehicle collision injuries, including neck pain, back pain, herniated discs, sciatica, and radiculopathy. This keeps the visit focused on the reason you sought care.

What This Targeted Treatment May Help Clarify

A focused injection may help show whether one nerve contributes to the pain.

The treatment gives your physician another way to address radiating pain after an accident.

A clearer pain pattern can support a more focused treatment plan.

Thorough documentation helps connect symptoms, findings, and treatment decisions.

The evaluation keeps care centered on crash-related injuries rather than general primary care.

Choosing the Right Injection for the Pain Source

These procedures differ by the area they target and the question they help answer.

TreatmentMain focusCommon decision point
Selective nerve root blockOne suspected spinal nerveWhether that nerve contributes to the symptoms
Epidural steroid injectionA broader epidural spaceWhether broader treatment fits the pain pattern
Facet joint injectionA spinal facet jointWhether the joint may contribute to back or neck pain
Medial branch blockNerves serving facet jointsWhether facet-related pain should be assessed further

Tony, the medical assistant, did an amazing job explaining the procedure in detail, which eased my nerves. Dr. Vyas thoroughly reviewed my MRI and took the time to explain my condition and treatment options. He was very honest and upfront about the procedure, making sure I truly needed the injection before administering it. His transparency and genuine care for my well-being reassured me that this office isn’t just in it for the money — they are truly invested in their patients’ health. I highly recommend this office to anyone in need of pain management. They provide exceptional care with professionalism and integrity.

Questions About Targeted Nerve Block Care

What is a selective nerve root block used for when spinal narrowing causes pain?

Spinal narrowing can irritate one nerve, and a selective nerve root block helps assess that nerve while addressing related pain. The injection focuses on the suspected nerve root rather than treating every possible pain source. Premier Injury Specialists reviews your symptoms, examination, and records before recommending it. The procedure may not fit pain that lacks a clear nerve pattern.

Who provides this treatment for auto accident injuries for Selective Nerve Root Block?

Premier Injury Specialists provides targeted nerve block care through board-certified pain management physicians. Our practice focuses on motor vehicle collision injuries, including radiculopathy, sciatica, neck pain, and back pain. The physician reviews your injury history and findings before treatment. A certified physician assistant also supports the coordinated care process.

How does the first appointment guide the injection decision?

The first appointment connects your pain pattern with the injury history and physical examination. We discuss available imaging, diagnostic testing, and the suspected nerve source. You’ll also hear why a targeted block may fit, what it may clarify, and what other procedures could address a different pain source. Bring relevant records if you have them.

Which symptoms make a targeted nerve block worth discussing?

Radiating pain, tingling, numbness, or pain that follows a consistent path can support a discussion about targeted nerve treatment. Symptoms alone don’t decide the procedure. Our physician also checks strength, sensation, movement, and the injury record. New or worsening weakness, bladder changes, or bowel changes require prompt medical attention.

When should someone ask about another treatment?

Another treatment deserves discussion when the pain pattern does not point to one nerve or the findings suggest a different source. Facet joint injections, medial branch blocks, epidural steroid injections, and joint injections address different clinical concerns. We compare the options with your examination and records. The plan should match the injury, not just the pain location.

What changes the cost of this procedure?

The recommended evaluation, treatment details, medical coverage, and related care influence the cost. We explain the care plan during a consultation and discuss available payment arrangements for eligible patients. MedPay and attorney liens may apply in qualifying cases. Ask about your coverage before treatment so the financial discussion matches your situation.

Can patients from Jonesboro use MedPay or attorney liens?

Eligible patients from Jonesboro may receive care through MedPay or an attorney lien without an out-of-pocket payment at the visit. Eligibility depends on the case and available coverage details. Our staff can discuss the paperwork during the consultation. Bring any claim information or attorney contact details that relate to the collision.
