Why does chronic pain continue after a car accident?

Chronic pain can continue when nerves, discs, joints, or soft tissue remain irritated after a crash. A focused evaluation links symptoms with exam findings and medical records. That review helps determine whether interventional treatment, spinal cord stimulation, or another plan fits. New weakness, loss of bladder control, or severe sudden symptoms require urgent medical attention.

Spinal Cord Stimulation for Accident Pain in Jonesboro

Spinal cord stimulation is a focused option for selected patients with ongoing nerve-related pain after a motor vehicle collision. The decision rests on the pain pattern, exam findings, prior treatment, and the records that show how the injury developed.

This page answers a narrower question than a general accident evaluation. You’re deciding whether a pulse generator and implanted leads belong in your care plan, not simply asking for another injection.

Our team treats crash-related conditions such as radiculopathy, sciatica, herniated discs, neck pain, and back pain. We don’t provide primary care, urgent care, or workers’ compensation care.

  • Match the pain pattern with the exam and crash-related records.
  • Review prior treatment and the reason pain continues.
  • Discuss whether electrical impulses fit the treatment goal.
  • Understand the plan, limits, and upfront pricing before proceeding.

Physician-LED treatment planning

Board-certified physicians in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine guide the plan, with support from a certified physician assistant.

A clear limit on treatment scope

This service addresses accident-related pain. It’s the wrong fit for primary care, urgent care, or workers’ compensation needs.

Questions About This Pain Treatment

How does spinal cord stimulation help manage chronic pain?

The pulse generator sends controlled electrical impulses through implanted leads to influence pain signals. Premier Injury Specialists first reviews your symptoms, exam findings, and accident records. That review helps us decide whether this approach fits your condition. Results vary, and the treatment doesn’t repair every source of pain.

What kind of doctor evaluates this treatment?

Board-certified pain management physicians evaluate whether spinal cord stimulation fits accident-related pain. Our team includes physicians in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine, plus a certified physician assistant. We focus on injuries caused by motor vehicle collisions and coordinate evaluation, treatment planning, and medical documentation.

Which records should I bring to the consultation?

Medical records, imaging reports, medication details, and prior procedure notes help us assess the treatment fit. An accident report can also add useful context. Bring what you have, but don’t delay care because one document is unavailable. We’ll explain which information matters for the next decision.

When is spinal cord stimulation the wrong choice?

Spinal cord stimulation is the wrong choice when the pain pattern or medical need does not fit the treatment. We assess the injury, symptoms, exam, and prior care before recommending it. Primary care, urgent care, and workers’ compensation needs also fall outside our practice scope.

Why might pain continue after an injection?

An injection may target one source of pain while another source remains active. Facet joints, nerve roots, discs, and soft tissue can produce different symptoms after a crash. Our physicians compare your response with the exam and records before discussing another injection or a different treatment plan.

Can I ask about payment before choosing treatment?

Yes, you can ask about pricing before choosing treatment. We explain upfront pricing as part of the treatment discussion. Eligible patients may use MedPay or attorney liens, which can support care without an out-of-pocket payment at the visit. Coverage and eligibility depend on the patient’s situation.
